Third Sector Peer Coaching Programme

NIACE (the National Institute of Adult Continuing Education) is running a free Third Sector Peer Coaching Programme.  The programme is for third sector providers of learning and skills and third sector organisations about to become providers, and will offer support and guidance around meeting the Learning and Skills Council’s provider requirements.

Your organisation may be planning to go through the LSC’s PQQ (Pre Qualification Questionnaire) or ITT (Invitation to Tender) processes, or it may have recently become an LSC-funded provider for the first time.  You might need help with self-assessment, preparing for inspections, or gaining LSC funding as a sub-contractor or through partnership/consortia working.  If so, this programme can help you get free advice to support your planning, decision making or tendering.  Your organisation will receive short-term, tailored support and guidance from a peer coach who also works in the third sector and who has successfully managed the delivery of learning programmes for the LSC.

The programme runs until March 2009 and covers all nine English regions.  To be eligible for support through the programme your organisation must be:

  • A third sector organisation.

  • Based and operating in England.

  • Providing, or intending to provide, learning and skills funded by the LSC (please note that it would be acceptable if, after receiving coaching under this programme, you decide not to pursue LSC funding).

  • Looking for support that falls within the scope of this programme.

For an application form and more information about the programme please contact Rachel Hughes at NIACE: Email: rachel.hughes@niace.org.uk

10am - 4.45pm, Thursday 16 October 2008

Venue:

Bishopsgate, London

Cost:

Acevo members - £140 / Non-members - £170

Acevo’s autumn event, the International Conference, has traditionally been a gathering for CEOs from across the world to network and discuss their local practices.

This year the International Conference, now called the Global Learning Forum, focuses on how UK third sector leaders can learn from peers in other countries and apply international practices to their UK based organisations regardless of size or scope. The conference will highlight international approaches to public service delivery and present the challenges that face third sector leaders worldwide.

The Global Learning Forum is an opportunity to gain insight into public service delivery models currently practiced in Europe, the US and Canada. It will also explore the challenge of the public service reform, currently one of the biggest issues for the third sector in the UK.

Delegates will be able to hear from key figures and participate in a wide range of discussions covering the essential theory and practice behind this major topic.  Acevo will also launch the findings of an international comparative study on the sector’s role in public services delivery at this conference.

Acevo is running a special “early bird” offer, whereby delegates who book their place before 26 June will receive a £50 discount on the standard price (the price for Acevo members with discount will be £90 and for non-members £120).
