Infrastructure Support in the VCS

Tuesday 27th July 2-4pm

Big Lottery Fund, 2 St James Gate, Newcastle upon Tyne

 

What is the value of Infrastructure Organisations in today‘s social and economic environment? Is there a role for Infrastructure Support in the Big Society? What will we miss about them if they are not there? 

 

Following presentations by the speakers, a Q and A session chaired by James Turner will give an opportunity for funders to challenge and debate this with the speakers

Guest speakers:

  • Mal Fitzgerald, Chief Executive Officer at Redcar and Cleveland Local Development Agency on the role and impact of Infrastructure Organisations in delivering support, sustaining activity in local communities and helping local authorities deliver their priorities

  • Jane Cater, Policy and Development Manager at VONNE, author of the North East Meta Plan for infrastructure funding, will provide an overview of the changing funding landscape for infrastructure bodies in the region and the impact of public sector cuts

  • Simon Davison, Director of One Voice Network will talk about infrastructure’s role in strategic engagement, partnerships, and the differential delivery of generic and specialist infrastructure organisations

  • Karen Bowen, Chief Executive Officer of Cumbria CVS will tell us why Cumbria CVSs decided to merge and how they achieved this
