The provision of a people’s panel in Northumberland

A Duty to Involve came into force in April 2009, side by side with the new Comprehensive Area Assessment; involving local people is now the expected approach that every authority will be taking. A People’s Panel aims to be a representative consultative body of local residents.

 

Service requirement includes recruiting panel members to an agreed profile to ensure they are representative of the county as a whole (c1,000 members) and using the panel to undertake a consultation/survey approximately once a quarter (i.e. four per annum).

Review of the Participation Fund 2007-2010

The Participation Fund aims to encourage, enhance and support the development of creative and innovative ways of involving children and young people in all parts of workforce development and reform. CWDC now wishes to review the Fund to establish to what extent the programme has achieved its aim and to consider children, young people and families' involvement in the project, the impact on the organisation / partnership funded and the impact on members of the workforce.

 

This opportunity is for researchers skilled in working with children and young people to help review the Participation Fund 2007-10. Organisations, consortia or individuals able to undertake a review are eligible to apply.

Social Enterprise Investment Fund - Tender Fund

The Social Enterprise Investment Fund provides investment in social enterprises delivering innovative health and social care, either by helping new organisations start up or helping existing organisations grow and improve their services. 

 

The Tender Fund is designed to help organisations tender successfully for public sector contracts by providing interest-free loans-based investments of £3,000 - £50,000 at an interest rate of 0% over a term of 6 months - 3 years. Grants will be offered only to organisations with a turnover of less than £250,000.

Social Enterprise: Winning with 2012

This is a partnership project (between Social Enterprise London and the Social Enterprise Coalition funded by the Office of the Third Sector) that aims to involve social enterprises from across the country in the development and delivery of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and ensure that social enterprises are fit to supply the contracts.

 

The project will:

  • represent social enterprises from around the country to policy-makers and procurers
