How to find us

By Metro
Out of the station, walk past the church. Straight ahead are the Civic Centre Offices – cross the road at traffic lights with the Civic Centre on your right (High West Street). Continue along this road, past police station on your left and cross a pelican crossing, straight ahead past school and chartered accountants on your right.

Walking past the school the fourth turning on your right is Gladstone Terrace. John Haswell House is half way down the road on the opposite side of the street.

By Bus
For those travelling from the south, buses stop on High West Street near the Swallow Hotel. Alternatively buses travelling from the south or Gateshead Centre stop at the bottom of Old Durham Road.

 

From here you have to go over the footbridge to the Swallow Hotel. Gladstone Terrace is next to the hotel. Buses from Gateshead Centre also stop on Prince Consort Road.

By Road
Coming from the North
Cross the Tyne Bridge and stay in the far left-hand filter lane. After the lights filter left - and loop around in the left hand lane (signposted for metro centre) and cross over at the traffic lights.

 

Keep in the left hand lane and at the next junction turn left. Continue past supermarket and bus station and keep in the right hand lane. At the next roundabout go straight ahead and keep in the centre lane, passing the Civic Centre on your left.

 

At the next roundabout continue straight ahead and John Haswell House is the third turning on your left.

Coming from the South
Heading along the A1, follow signs for the A167 which will take you through Low Fell. Continue along this road past Gateshead College on your left and at the next set of traffic lights take the filter lane off to the left.

 

Continue along this road over a roundabout, past library on your left, and John Haswell House is fifth turning on your right.

 

Coming from the East
Approaching Gateshead on the A184 stay in left lane at the roundabout junction with the A167 Newcastle. Go straight over to Gateshead Town Centre to the next set of lights. Stay in the left hand lane up the bank to another set of lights. Straight across in the left hand lane past the Civic Centre to a roundabout.

 

Turn left and keep in the right hand lane, passing the Civic Centre on your left. At the next roundabout continue straight ahead and John Haswell House is the third turning on your left.

 

Coming from the West
Approaching Gateshead on the A184 stay in left lane to the junction for the Redheugh Bridge (A6082 Newcastle) and continue on the A184 Gateshead. At the next junction turn right. Continue past supermarket and bus station and keep in the middle lane.

 

At the next roundabout go straight ahead and keep in the right hand lane, passing the Civic Centre on your left. At the next roundabout continue straight ahead and John Haswell House is the third turning on your left.

Parking
Limited on-street car parking is available nearby to the office; there are two accessible parking bays at the front of the building.

Pay and Display car parking is available opposite John Haswell House - entrance on Gladstone Terrace, behind the Swallow Hotel - 50p for up to three hours or £1 for 24 hours parking.
