LDAs typically offer a range of help, information, advice and practical support,
including:

for groups getting started (e.g. writing constitutions, registering as a
charity, roles of committee members)

laminating)

to the Internet and other computing equipment (e.g. picture scanner, desk top
publishing)

on identifying and applying for funds

LDAs differ in the range of services on offer, depending on the resources
available e.g. some have staff who can go out to visit groups, some support
groups but not individuals, some have full time funding advisers.
LDAs in urban areas are usually Councils
for Voluntary Service (CVSs), while those in rural areas are Rural Community
Councils (RCCs).
